Making Every Drop Count: Our New Water Resource Pack for Primary Schools
Water is one of the simplest things in the world, and one of the most important. For children, staying well hydrated isn't just about quenching thirst. It helps them concentrate in class, stay active in the playground and feel their best from the first lesson to the last.
Yet for something we use every single day, water holds a lot of mystery. Where does it actually come from? How does it get from a cloud in the sky to the tap in the classroom? And why does it matter so much for growing bodies and busy minds?
That's exactly what our new water resource pack helps primary school children discover — and it's available now on the Cleverfood Hub.

A journey from source to tap
Created in collaboration with Radnor Hills, the family-run Welsh spring water company, the pack takes young learners on the full journey of water.
Children follow a single drop from rain, rivers and underground springs, deep through natural layers of rock, and all the way to the tap. Along the way, they'll explore:
Where drinking water comes from — the natural sources that keep our glasses full
How water is cleaned and kept safe — the steps that take water from reservoir to tap
Why hydration matters — how water helps them learn, move and feel great
How to protect our water — the small, everyday actions that look after water and the planet
It's brought to life with fun facts, an easy-to-follow glossary and a hydration challenge pupils can enjoy in class or take home.
Why we created it
At Cleverchefs, we've always believed that good food and drink is only part of the story. Helping children understand why healthy choices matter, and giving them the knowledge to make those choices for themselves, is where real, lasting change begins.
Partnering with a like-minded Welsh business made that mission even stronger. Radnor Hills shares our commitment to health, sustainability and the wellbeing of the next generation, which made this collaboration a natural fit.
The result is a resource that turns an everyday habit — reaching for a drink of water — into a genuine learning moment.
How schools can use it
The pack is designed to fit naturally into the school day, sitting comfortably alongside topics your pupils are already exploring.
There's no download required — schools can view the pack directly online at the Cleverfood Hub. Share it with parents to continue the conversation at home, or use it as a supplement to your classroom learning. However it's used, we hope it sparks a little curiosity about the water we so often take for granted.

Could the pack be used to help children understand why water from different natural sources, like rivers and underground springs, needs different treatment before it reaches the tap? FNF
